His research has led to 13 first/co-first authored publications on Nature, Nature Genetics, Nature Communications, Bioinformatics, PNAS, etc. In June 2020, Dr. Gu joined City of Hope National Medical Center as an assistant professor and started his independent research career. His research has been supported by the ASH Scholar Award, LLS Special Fellow Award, NIH/NCI K99/R00 Award, Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, Leukemia Research Foundation, V Foundation Scholar Award, and Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation Translational Research Grant.
Dr. Zunsong Hu graduated in Preventive Medicine in 2012 from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Then he did the Ph.D. training in Fuwai Hospital, Peking Union Medical College and received his Ph.D. degree in epidemiology and health statistics, in 2017. His major scientific interests are in integrated multi-omics research of complex diseases and risk factors.
Dr. Zhilian Jia received her bachelor's degree in Nursing from Peking University in 2009, then she joined Dr. Qiang Wu's laboratory for her Ph.D. training at Shanghai Center for Systems Biomedicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. After receiving a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology in 2015, she continued her postdoctoral training at Dr. Qiang Wu's laboratory. She has been working as an assistant professor in Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2017. Her research will be focusing on functional sutdy of driver genetic lesions in novel leukemia subtypes.
Alexander Chassiakos received his bachelor's degree in 2018 from the University of California, Los Angeles in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. He spent two years working as a postbaccalaureate fellow under Dr. Costas Petrovas at the Tissue Analysis Core of the Vaccine Research Center, part of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases of the National Institutes of Health, focusing on spatially analyzing populations in the immune tissues of patients and disease models through fluorescence microscopy. He came to City of Hope in 2021 and joined the laboratory of Dr. Zhaohui Gu to complete his Ph.D. training under the Irell & Manella Graduate School of Biological Sciences. His interests are primarily in the identification and understanding of novel distinguishing predictive, diagnostic, and prognostic features in leukemia subtypes.
